Earn good karmas.....distribute umbrellas to poor at 25% ....of your cost....
Earn good karmas and do some small project: When I was a child there was one good businessman in Bombay Mutual Building who used to buy 100 umbrellas and then offer same to ju. staff of all those in the building at much less price. My salute to him. Many of us can do that. Housing soc. and social orgs can do that for all maids, drivers, watchman, lift man etc.. Commercial offices can do that same. As CSR corporates can do in adivasi areas. Buy X quantity at heavy discount from a original source ( should be good quality minimum features) like manufacturer / importers. Then subsidise same for anyone earning less then Rs 10000/- ( I do not know how they survive with less then that income) and distribute. Pl. send your name / org name if u follow this ( optional ) . Individuals can also do it for their domestic staff atleast. Pl. note free is not valued so atleast charge 25%. Even I want to buy umbrellas for my Sr. citizens activity. I was given Rs 5000/- by my sister Pratima for a small but novel idea. I want to use same for this project from my Varishtha Nagrik Seva Sanstha. If someone can recommend Umbrella manufacturer or importer then I will be highly obliged.

I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "
Um wow...
A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"
The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:
"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.
But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?
Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.
At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.
We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn't enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: "How amazing am I ?! "

be grateful to those people who contribute to our success
This about Mr. Zavere Poonawala who is a well-known Parsee industrialist in Pune, India. He had this driver named Ganga Datt with him for the last 30 years on his limousine, which was originally owned by Acharya Rajneesh.
.
Ganga Datt passed away recently and at that time Mr. Poonawala was in Mumbai for some important work. As soon as he heard the news, he canceled all his meetings, requested the driver’s family to await him for the cremation and came back to Pune immediately by a helicopter.
.
On reaching Pune, he asked the limo to be decorated with flowers as he wished Ganga Datt should be taken in the same car which he himself had driven since the beginning. When Ganga Datt’s family agreed to his wishes, he himself drove Ganga Datt from his home up to the ghat on his last journey.
.
When asked about it, Mr. Poonawala replied that Ganga Datt had served him day and night, and he could at least do this being eternally grateful to him. He further added that Ganga Datt rose up from poverty and educated both his children very well. His daughter is a Chartered accountant and that is so commendable.
.
His comment in the end, is the essence of a successful life in all aspects:
“Everybody earns money which is nothing unusual in that, but we should always be grateful to those people who contribute to our success. This is the belief, we have been brought up with, which made me do, what I did”.
An inspiring example of humanity ……
Thanks for getting 66 A scrapped.......Ninad and Shreya.....Thnaks
My message to Ad Ninad Laud and Ad Shreya Singhal: Hats off to u and Shreya. Congrats. v r obliged. Atleast file one such PIL in every 3 years and serve the country. U do not need to visit any religious place or charities. Such work is more then any punya karma.

share life and the love...inspite of they being thrash
The world-renowned psychologist, Sigmund Freud, died at the age of 83, a bitter and disillusioned man.
Though he was one of the most influential thinkers,
Freud had little compassion for the common person.
Freud had little compassion for the common person.
In 1918, he wrote, “I have found little that is good about human beings on the whole. In my experience most of them are trash, no matter whether they publicly subscribe to this or that ethical doctrine or to none at all” (Veritas Reconsidered, p. 36).
As a result of his bitterness toward humanity, Freud died friendless!
Many of his loyal followers had even abandoned him, not out of psychological disagreements-
- but because they were disillusioned with how bitter he had become.
- but because they were disillusioned with how bitter he had become.
- your relationships with people are some of the most valuable commodities you’ll ever have.
Yet many, as they grow older, tend to become like Freud: bitter, angry, and cynical toward others.
But as you grow in your faith-
- you can be the exact opposite as the joy of the Lord overcomes your life more and more every day.
- you can be the exact opposite as the joy of the Lord overcomes your life more and more every day.
So nourish your friendships and keep people close.
They’re some of the most important things you can have in life!
They’re some of the most important things you can have in life!
Pray that God would surround you with good friends with whom you can share life and the love.

experience the difficulties of those who contributed to make your life.....
A young man went to seek an important position at a large printing company. He passed the initial interview and was going to meet the director for the final interview. The director saw his resume, it was excellent. And asked, '
- Have you received a scholarship for school?' The boy replied, " No '.
-' It was your father who paid for your studies? '
-' Yes.'- He replied.
-' Where does your father work? '
-' My father is a Blacksmith'
The Director asked the young to show him his hands.
The young man showed a pair of hands soft and perfect.
-' Have you ever helped your parents at their job? '
-' Never, my parents always wanted me to study and read more books. Besides, he can do the job better than me.
The director said:
-' I have got a request: When you go home today, go and wash the hands of your father and then come see me tomorrow morning.'

The young felt his chance to get the job was high.
When he returned to his house he asked his father if he would allow him to wash their hands.
His father felt strange, happy, but with mixed feelings and showed their hands to his son. The young washed his hands, little by little. It was the first time that he noticed his father's hands were wrinkled and they had so many scars. Some bruises were so painful that his skin shuddered when he touched them.
This was the first time that the young man recognized what it meant for this pair of hands to work every day to be able to pay for his study. The bruises on the hands were the price that he payed for their education, his school activities and his future.
After cleaning his father's hands the young man stood in silence and began to tidy and clean up the workshop. That night, father and son talked for a long time.

The Director noticed the tears in the eyes of the young when He asked him: -' Can you tell me what you did and what you learned yesterday at your house?'
The boy replied: -' I washed my father's hands and when I finished I stayed and cleaned his workshop '
-' Now I know what it is to appreciate and recognize that without my parents , I would not be who I am today . By helping my father I now realize how difficult and hard it is to do something on my own. I have come to appreciate the importance and the value in helping the family.

The director said, "This is what I look for in my people. I want to hire someone who can appreciate the help of others , a person who knows the hardship of others to do things, and a person who does not put money as his only goal in life". ' You are hired '.
A child that has been coddled, Protected and usually given him what he wants, develops a mentality of " I have the right ' and will always put himself first, ignoring the efforts of their parents. If we are this type of protective parent are we really showing love or are we destroying our children?
You can give your child a big house , good food , computer classes , watch on a big screen TV . But when you're washing the floor or painting a wall , please let him experience that too.
After eating have them wash the dishes with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you have no money to hire someone to do this it's because you want to love them the right way . No matter how rich you are, you want them to understand. One day your hair will have gray hair, like the father of this young man.
The most important thing is that your child learns to appreciate the effort and to experience the difficulties and learn the ability to work with others to get things done. "

I know for sure these troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children
This is a story....
I hired a plumber to help me repairs at an old farmhouse. He already had a rough and tiresome day.
* a flat tire
* his electric drill fault
* his old car break down.
* his tiffin was spoilt
* he lost his wallet
* his bank was calling for loan repayments
In all the tension and stress he finished my repairs.
Since his car broke down, I drove him home. While I drove him home, he sat silently, but I can mark his agony and restlessness.
On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands and closed his eyes.
When the door opened, he was smiling and happy. In seconds he underwent an amazing transformation.
He hugged his two small children, gave his wife a kiss, laughed, and never even slightly make them feel the troubles that he had encountered that day.
I was astonished, aback and curious. Seeing my inquisitive eyes he told “Oh, that's my Trouble Tree. My best friend.
My trouble carrier for the night”. He replied. “I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again.” He smiled and shared secret that “when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging there the night before !!”
Life may be a burden of worries, but there is a way to keep our loved ones untouched from these worries.
Time will heal every wound.
Spreading happiness to our loved ones also in turn relieves us of stress.
TOUGH TIMES DON'T LAST , BUT TOUGH PEOPLE DO.

I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Wal-Mart. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.
It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout.. We all stood there, under the awning, just inside the door of the Wal-Mart.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.
I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.
Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, 'Mom let's run through the rain,'
She said.
'What?' Mom asked.
She said.
'What?' Mom asked.
'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated.
'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.
This young child waited a minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run through the rain..'
'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said.
'No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning,' the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.
'This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?'
'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ' If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything! ' '
The entire crowd stopped dead silent.. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain.. We all stood silently. No one left. Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say.
Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.
'Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just need washing,' Mom said.
Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They got soaked.
They were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars. And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.
Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories every day.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.
If you've read this all and it's touched you... share it.

Happiness is a state of Mind.
Alok Tholiya Happiness is a state of Mind. But all my well wishers advise me to hv bigger car, flat in a posh locality , renovate my office and enjoy wine party. But I am happy with zen estillo, happy in living in my own building though old, happy in doing business though small from humble looking place with things scattered and very happily dance in party without booze.
Rather many well wishers have indirectly disrupted my family happiness by giving such advise which my family may find convincing ( as they too get perturbed inspite of having lived with my dad and mom the extremely contented spiritual couple) .
Therefore even at age 58 I hv no BP, No Diabetes, no EMI to be paid, no interest to be paid and so on.
All the wealth of Hinduja and Garware failed to save their son from committing suicide. THE CHARM OF Kennedy CUD NOT KEEP HER WIFE AWAY FROM Oswald who finally murdered President for Jack. Prince and his kingdom cud not keep Diana indoors. All time powerful Indira ji cud not keep her husband in arms nor save her own life with security all around. Ambani and his wealth cud not keep paralysis away and he died not so old. And can go on by expanding the idea...
When same friends sit together then during gossip they give story of fall of Sir Seth .......so and so before their own eyes but still give priority to materialistic things. And teach their children to chase just that.
Such children are more prone to drug abuse under peer pressure, under stress or when faced with failure.
So concentrate on spiritualism around you and not on wealth.Wealth and success will come as per destiny so next is good karmas. With contentment and compassion you can lead a happy life. Trying to find happiness in money, power or name is just a mrig marichika.

Azim Premji's view on Philanthropy

PHILANTHROPY BLUEPRINT
THINK TWICE: ARE YOU BEING INDIFFERENT?
Azim Premji makes an impassioned plea to forge connections with the less privileged. His mantra for giving: start early in life, get good people on board, cultivate patience, tenacity and empathy
It was suggested by The Economic Times that I share some thoughts on philanthropy on this occasion. So let me do so. Let's think about tonight. We will all go home or to our hotels and sleep. No matter where we are, within a couple of kilometers of where we are sleeping safely and soundly, there will be a young girl, who is our daughter or granddaughter's age, trying to sleep in the cold night of December on the roads. She has been abused in the past, and she will be abused in the future. She is probably desperately hungry. In her circumstances, going to school or having anything else that every child must have is not even a remote possibility. When she wakes uptomorrow morning, it's just the start of another day of trying to survive, to again sleep shivering on the cold pavement somewhere. This girl is not alone. There are probably three million children who are homeless and will sleep on the streets in India tonight and every night. She is also not alone in sleeping hungry. More than 200 million of our people will probably sleep hungry, like her. In very simple terms: can we be indifferent to this? To my mind that is the basic question that we need to ask ourselves: Do we feel connected to our country, to the people around us? Should not every Indian have the very basic, bare necessities of a life of dignity? This is certainly not hoping for too much; it's just basic safety, adequate food, a roof to sleep under, basic education and healthcare. Most of us would feel this way. I think we just need to act. I have mentioned only a few kinds of issues. But as all of us know, our country is facing challenges of a similar kind on every front. Be it education, healthcare, nutrition, sanitation or of deep inequality and discrimination. Each one is as complex as the other, as necessary for a life of basic dignity. We can perhaps justifiably say that many of these issues need to be addressed by the government. Certainly the government needs to do more and better. But that doesn't in any way lessen the responsibility that we have. I and you, who have the privilege of being successful, have a greater responsibility. To me philanthropy is the connection that we can have if we are not indifferent to all these issues that face us. It is the mechanism for us to contribute to making some positive change. And I think greater our success, the greater the responsibility for us. I must also say that the desire to engage must come from within. No one can be told to be philanthropic. At its core philanthropy is about the connection that you feel with the people or the world around you. Many who feel this connection and have taken action have experienced that there is enough reason for hope in our country, and that one can genuinely contribute. The foundation that we have set up has been working with various state governments to improve equity and quality of government schools for the past 12 years. I have learnt that trying to improve education is a very
long process, but I think that basic education is the basic route to building a better society, so we remain totally committed to it. Let me narrate one of many things that give us hope in this journey. We work in some of the most disadvantaged districts of the country. We have 50-70 of our own people in each of these districts. They are all deeply committed to the cause of education, and are capable of educating teachers. In all these places we run voluntary learning forums for government school teachers, among many other initiatives. What this means is that teachers come to these learning sessions on their own. They spend their own money for transportation; they come from up to 30 km away in difficult conditions. They also spend their own money on food. They do this on a holiday, usually a Sunday. Can we imagine this happening in the best of the companies? How many employees of such companies will spend their holidays and their own money, so that they can do their jobs better? How completely contrary is this experience of ours, to the notion of the disinterested government employee? These are all government employees, but they are deeply committed and genuinely care. Our experience has been that between 12% and 18% teachers in a district become a part of such forums over a period of time. And if you ask them why they do it, they all have the same answer, which is that they want to learn so that they can teach better. We are not talking about small numbers. In a typical district with 5,000 teachers, this implies that 600-800 teachers are engaged in such forums. I find this a great reason for hope. When so many people from within the government school system have this kind of commitment, I am sure education will improve, given time and sustained effort. As I said before, we have been at it for 12 years. I have only one regret about my philanthropy, which is that I wish I had started earlier. There is so much to do, and this kind of work takes so much time that the earlier we try to contribute, the better it is. With these 12 years of our experience, let me share three other things that I have learnt about philanthropy. Those of you who are very active in philanthropy would perhaps resonate with these lessons that I have learnt. First, involving your family early on in philanthropy is very important. Their understanding, endorsement and involvement may eventually be the most determining factor. There is another positive aspect to this early involvement. Some of the smartest people I know have been those who chose to become homemakers. They can perhaps play a significant role in starting off their families' philanthropic efforts. Second, the key to scaling up philanthropy and doing good work is getting good people in the team. This is exactly the same as in our businesses. The work in philanthropy is perhaps more complex than business, because social issues are more complex. So it needs really good people. I think the most serious start to anyone's philanthropic work would be to pick one of their top people from within the business, a person who has the intent, empathy, ability and trust, and move him or her to the philanthropy side. Third, philanthropic work needs patience, tenacity and empathy. It is different from business. We all know that intellectually, but it's very challenging when one gets into it. One has to change one's mindset significantly if one has to make a difference. I have learnt this only slowly in the past 12 years. Thank you for hearing me out. I absolutely believe that we are trustees of our wealth for this society, and we must use it as such. We must do philanthropy because it is the right thing to do. I also believe that every one of us has the basic empathy with the people around us; we just need to let it find expression. I am certain that none of us wants to let the young girl I talked about earlier to go hungry, to get abused, or to sleep in the cold night of December on the road, when our daughters and granddaughters are sleeping safe and sound - as they should. Thank you.

Has the water entered my ship?
In 1923, nine of the wealthiest people in the world met at Chicago's Edge Water Beach Hotel. Their combined wealth, it is estimated, exceeded the wealth of the government of the United States at that time. These men certainly knew how to make a living and accumulate wealth. Attending the meeting were the following men:
1. The president of the largest steel company,
2. The president of the largest utility company,
2. The president of the largest utility company,
3. The president of the largest gas company,
4. The president of the New York Stock Exchange,
4. The president of the New York Stock Exchange,
5. The president of the Bank of International Settlements,
6. The greatest wheat speculator,
7. The greatest bear on Wall Street,
7. The greatest bear on Wall Street,
8. The head of the World's greatest monopoly &
9. A member of President Harding's cabinet.
That's a pretty impressive line-up of people by anyone's yardstick.
Yet, 25 years later, where were those nine industrial giants?
That's a pretty impressive line-up of people by anyone's yardstick.
Yet, 25 years later, where were those nine industrial giants?
Let’s examine what happened to them 25 years later.
1. The President of the then largest steel company (Bethlehem Steel Corp), Charles M Schwab, lived on borrowed capital for five years before he died bankrupt.
2. The President of the then largest gas company, Howard Hubson, went insane.
3. One of the greatest commodity traders (Wheat Speculator), Arthur Cutten, died insolvent.
4. The then President of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail.
4. The then President of the New York Stock Exchange, Richard Whitney, was sent to jail.
5. The member of the US President’s Cabinet (the member of President Harding's cabinet), Albert Fall, was pardoned from jail just to be able to go home and die in peace.
6. The greatest “bear” on Wall Street, Jesse Livermore committed suicide.
7. The President of the then world’s greatest monopoly, Ivar Krueger, committed suicide.
8. The President of the Bank of International Settlement, Leon Fraser, committed Suicide.
9. The president of the largest utility company, Samuel Insull, died penniless.
What they forgot was how to "make" life while they got busy making money!
Money in itself is not evil; it provides food for the hungry, medicine for the sick, clothes for the needy. Money is only a medium of exchange.
We need two kinds of education:
a) One that teaches us how to make a living
and
b) One that teaches us how to live.
Alok adds: How to live must include we must not do something which will put us behind bars, which will risk our or others health, wealth, image, peace of mind and so on. ..........
There are many of us who are so engrossed in our professional life that we neglect our family, health and social responsibilities.
If asked why we do this, we would reply that "We are doing it for our family".
Yet, our kids are sleeping when we leave home. They are sleeping when we come back home!! Twenty years later, we’ll turn back, and they’ll all be gone, to pursue their own dreams and their own lives.
Without water, a ship cannot move. The ship needs water, but if the water gets into the ship, the ship will face existential problems. What was once a means of living for the ship will now become a means of destruction.
Similarly we live in a time where earning is a necessity but let not the earning enter our hearts, for what was once a means of living will surely become a means of destruction for us as well.
So take a moment and ask yourself………. Has the water entered my ship? I hope Not!

My reply to my dear relative
Take me and hema along and u 'll b busy. As far as confidence is concerned listen to osho and money is concerned comes with good karmas so do plan some good activity at Boston. Also looking at vips pass book u can gain confidence. As far as I see even with humble pass book dadaji and daddy always had super high confidence. So state of mind is not connected with worldly achievements but with own sense of well being and spiritualism. Love, regards, ... alok
