Creating is our nature..............
Why Anand Kumar of the
'Super 30' fame from Bihar, who has trained 267 'poorest of the poor' students
to enter IIT, refuse to take government or private help?
Why does Ratan Tata, who has enough money to live a super comfortable life,
work even after he has crossed 75 years of age?
When a Steve Jobs has enough money to retire forever, why does he create
an iPod, an iPad, an iPhone?
Why does a Sister Agnes (Mother Teresa), trudge through the stinking by-lanes
of Kolkatta searching for diseased destitutes, even if it means, exposing
herself to diseases, harm and ridicule?
Why do Bill and Melinda Gates visit poverty stricken, disease infested
parts of Africa when they can be sunning themselves on the beaches of Hawaii?
Why does a Rabindranath Tagore, with the risk of being hunted, return Knighthood
to the British Empire after the Jallianwalabagh massacre even as the britishers
are ruling his homeland?
Why does a Sundarlal Bahuguna undertake a 5000 km trans-himalaya march
to save the forests and the ecology of that part of our country saying,
'Ecology is the permanent economy'? Why does he politely refuse the Padma
Shree by the Govt of India saying that "I do not deserve it till
flesh and blood (top soil) of India was flowing down to the sea"?
Why does a Nandan Nilekani, with about Rs 1.4 Billion as his wealth, become
a public servant, and assume charge of an audacious task ('Aadhaar' cards)
as the chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India ?
We believe, it is so because Life is more than accumulation of things money
can buy.
Because, Life is more than collecting rewards and accolades competing with
others.
Because, Life is more than gaining attention and admiring glances when
you are with people.
Because, Life is more than playing a games of one up manship.
Because, Life is more than having more than / better / the latest compared
to others.
Because, Life is about 'creating something special'. Every human being
has an inherent desire to create.
Give a child a paper and pencil. It will immediately get down to 'create'.
Give the child a few blocks. It will immediately get down to 'create'.
Give the child some things that make noise. It will immediately get down
to 'create'.
'Creating' is our nature.
There are enough people who believe the ultimate objective of life is to
accumulate enough wealth and fame, create a safety nest for their immediate
family and live life into obscurity. This is what most people define as
success.
The goal of life should never be this 'success'. It should be SIGNIFICANCE. The
more we have created, the more we are significant. Otherwise, we are
in a mirage called success.
While success is 'produced', impact is 'created' !!!
May each reader of this message live not just to produce success,
but live, to create an impact !!!

STORY -- THE SOCK
STORY -- THE SOCK
A wise and saintly rich man, sensing his approaching death, called his son to his side and gave him these instructions: “My son, I shall be leaving you very shortly. On the day when I die, and they have washed my body and come to wrap it in the shroud, I want you to put one of my socks on my foot. This is my final request of you.”
Soon after this, the old man did indeed die, leaving behind his goods and property, his children and his dependents. Family, friends, acquaintances and neighbors attended his funeral. The body had been washed and was almost completely wrapped in the shroud, when the son remembered his father’s wish. Finding one of his old socks, he handed it to the washer of the dead, saying, “In accordance with my father’s last request, please put this sock on his foot.”
“That is quite impossible:’ Said the man. “Such a thing is utterly impermissible in Islam. I cannot act against the Shariah.” Despite this valid objection, the son insisted, “That was my father’s final request; it must certainly be carried out.”
The washer of the dead was unmoved. “If you won’t take my word for it,” he said, “go and ask the mufti. He will confirm what I tell you, that it is not permissible.” Holding up the funeral, they consulted the mufti, preachers and scholars, all of whom declared that this was not permissible in Islam. Just then, an aged friend of the deceased interrupted the debate with these words to the son: “My boy, your late father entrusted me with a letter which I was to hand over to you after his departure. Here, this letter belongs to you.” So saying, he gave him an envelope. Taken by surprise, the boy opened the envelope and read out the contents of his father’s letter.
“My son, all this wealth and property I have left to you. Now you see: at the last moment, they won’t even let you give me an old sock to wear. When you yourself come one day to be in my condition they will also refuse to let you keep anything but your shroud. Eight yards of shroud are all you will be able to carry over from this fleeting world into the Hereafter. So pull yourself together and be prepared. Spend the fortune I have left you, not for the satisfaction of vain desires, but in ways pleasing to Allah, that you may achieve honor in both worlds.”

SILENCE YOUR MIND
SILENCE YOUR MIND
------------------------------------
There once was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It was no ordinary watch because it had sentimental value for him. After searching high and low among the hay for a long while; he gave up and enlisted the help of a group of children playing outside the barn. He promised them that the person who found it would be rewarded.
Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn, went through and around the entire stack of hay but still could not find the watch.
Just when the farmer was about to give up looking for his watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance. The farmer looked at him and thought, "Why not? After all, this kid looks sincere enough. So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn.
After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand! The farmer was both happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded where the rest had failed.
The boy replied, "I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction.
MORAL:
A peaceful mind can think better than a worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of silence to your mind every day, and see, how sharply it helps you to set your life the way you expect it to be...!

Lets stop chasing and we will find happiness...
One day, the young lion asked his mom:
"Mom, where is the happiness?" Mom replied:
"It's on your tail." So the young lion keeps on
chasing after his tail. But after a whole day of
trying, he failed to get the happiness that was
on his tail. Then he told his mom about this,
his mom smiled and said: "Son, you don't really
need to chase after your happiness, as long as
you keep going and moving forward, your
happiness will always be with you.."
Wish everyone of you find your happiness.

You can.....change your life ...
You can't decide the length of life, but you can
control how you want to live it.
You can't control the weather, but you can control your mood.
You can't change your look, but you can smile.
You can't control others, but you can control yourself.
You can't foresee tomorrow, but you can utilize today wisely.
You can't win everything, but you can try your very best to achieve that.

By being nice, honest, fulfilling duties we can be god to someone..
A group of fifteen soldiers led by their Major Sahib were on their way to the post in Himalayas in cold winter where they would be deployed for next three months.
After walking for 5 hours it was 2 o'clock in the night and everyone was tired and thought if they can get Tea.
After walking for 5 hours it was 2 o'clock in the night and everyone was tired and thought if they can get Tea.
Sir, this is a tea shop indeed and we can make tea. We will have to break the lock though.
The officer was in doubt about the proposed action but a steaming cup of tea was not a bad idea. He thought for a while and permitted for the lock to be broken. The lock was broken.
The tea was prepared and it brought great relief to all in the cold night. They were now ready for the long and treacherous walk ahead of them and started to get ready to move.
The officer was in thought. They had broken open the lock and prepared tea and consumed biscuits without the permission of the owner. The payment was due but there was no one in sight. But they are not a band of thieves. They are disciplined soldiers.
The Major took out a Rs. 1000/- note from his wallet and kept it on the counter, pressed under the sugar container, so that the owner sees it first thing when he arrives in the morning.
He was now relieved of the guilt and ordered the move.
Days, weeks and months passed. And then one day, it was time to be replaced by another brave lot. Soon they were on their way back and stopped at the same shop, which was today open with the owner in place. He was an old man with very meager resources and was happy to see fifteen of them with the prospect of selling at least fifteen cups of tea that day.
All of them had their tea and spoke to the old man about his life and experiences in general, selling tea at such remote a location. The poor, old man had many stories to tell all of them, replete with his faith in God.
"Kya Baba, yadi Allah hota to kyaa aap ke jaisa 'Allah kaa bandaa' is haal main hota, said one of them"; moved by his poverty and faith in God.
"Nahin Sahib, aise mat kaho, God actually exists. I got the proof a few months ago.
"I was going through very tough times because my only son had been severely beaten by the terrorists. I had closed the shop early that day and had taken my son to the hospital. There were medicines to be purchased and I had no money. There was no hope, Sahib.
"And that day Sahib, I had prayed to Allah for help. And Sahib, Allah walked into my shop that day.
"When I returned to my shop that day and saw the lock broken, I thought someone had broken in and had taken away whatever little I had. But then I saw that 'Allah' had left Rs. 1000/- under the sugar pot. Sahib, I can't tell you what that money was worth that day. Allah exists Sahib, He does.
"I know people are dying every day here but all of you will soon meet your near and dear ones, your children, and you must thank your God Sahib, he is watching all of us. He does exist. He walked in to my shop that day and broke open the lock to give me the money I desperately needed. I know He did it."
The faith in his eyes was unflinching. It was unnerving. Fifteen sets of eyes looked at their officer and read the order in his eyes clear and unambiguous, 'Keep quiet.'
The officer got up and paid the bill and hugged the old man.
"Yes Baba, I know, God does exist - and yes the tea was wonderful."
Fifteen pairs of eyes did not miss the moisture building in the eyes of the Major, a rare sight.
Moral : The real truth is that any one of us can be a God to somebody.
