BOREDOM is a sign of those poorest who live with mind........be no mind and enjoy all surprises of life

Boredom

The Daily Mail, United Kingdom, reports that according to scientists, 'Boredom could be shaving years off your life'.

"Researchers say that people who complain of boredom are more likely to die young, and that those who experienced 'high levels' of tedium are more than two-and-a-half times as likely to die from heart disease or stroke than those satisfied with their lot. The scientists said this could be a result of those unhappy with their lives turning to such unhealthy habits as smoking or drinking, which would cut their life expectancy."

Interestingly, a study found that people who reported feelings of boredom more frequently tried to alleviate it with brief distractions including work breaks or doing laundry. But these boredom Band-Aids soon failed. On the other hand, people who meditated, engaged with other people or accepted the boredom were more successful.

Even meditation techniques become boring for the boring mind.

What is boredom? Is it a negative emotion? How does one overcome boredom? Can meditation help?

Osho says Life is not boring, mind is boring.

"You must have become very alienated from life, hence boredom. You have forgotten the intimacy, the immediacy You are no longer bridged. Knowledge functions as a wall: innocence functions as a bridge.

Start looking like a child again. Go to the seashore and again start collecting seashells. See a child collecting seashells -- as if he has found a mine of diamonds. So thrilled he is! See a child making sandcastles and how absorbed he is, utterly lost, as if there is nothing more important than making sandcastles. See a child running after a butterfly...and be a child again. Start running after butterflies again. Make sandcastles, collect seashells.

Don't live as if you know. You know nothing! All that you know is about and about. The moment you KNOW something, boredom disappears. Knowing is such an adventure that boredom cannot exist. With knowledge of course it can exist; with knowing it cannot exist.

And let me remind you: I am not talking about some divine knowledge, some esoteric knowledge; I am simply talking about THIS life. Just look around with a little more clarity, with a little more transparency...and life is hilarious!"
OSHO

Osho,
I feel life is very boring, what should I do?

Osho replies:

AS IT IS, YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE ENOUGH. You have made life boring -- some achievement! Life is such a dance of ecstasy and you have reduced it to boredom. You have done a miracle! What else do you want to do? You can't do anything bigger than this. Life and boring? You must have a tremendous capacity to IGNORE life.

Just the other day I was telling you that ignorance means the capacity to ignore. You must be ignoring the birds, the trees, the flowers, the people. Otherwise, life is so tremendously beautiful, so absurdly beautiful, that if you can see it as it is you will never stop laughing. You will go on giggling -- at least inside.

Life is not boring, but mind is boring. And we create such a mind, such a strong mind, like a China Wall around ourselves, that it does not allow life to enter into us. It disconnects us from life. We become isolated, encapsulated, windowless. Living behind a prison wall you don't see the morning sun, you don't see the birds on the wing, you don't see the sky in the night full of stars. And, of course, you start thinking that life is boring. Your conclusion is wrong. you are in a wrong space; you are living in a wrong context.
You must be a religious person, Brij Mohan, because to make life boring one has to be religious; one has to be very scholarly. One has to know Christianity, Hinduism, Islam. One has to learn much from the Vedas and the Koran and the Bible. You must be very well-informed. A man who is too well-informed, too knowledgeable, creates such a thick wall of words -- futile words, empty words -- around himself that he becomes incapable of seeing life.

Knowledge is a barrier to life.

Put aside your knowledge! And then look with empty eyes...and life is a constant surprise. And I am not talking about some divine life -- the ordinary life is so extraordinary. In small incidents you will find the presence of God -- a child giggling, a dog barking, a peacock dancing. But you can't see if your eyes are covered with knowledge. The poorest man in the world is the man who lives behind a curtain of knowledge.

The poorest are those who live through the mind. The richest are those who have opened the windows of no-mind and approached life with the no-mind.
This is not only your experience; you are not alone in it. In fact, the majority of people will agree with you. They don't find any surprise anywhere. And each moment there are surprises and surprises because life is never the same; it is constantly changing, and it takes such unpredictable turns. How can you remain unaffected by the very wonder of it? The only way to remain unaffected is to cling to your past, to your experience, to your knowledge, to your memories, to your mind. Then you cannot see that which is; you go on missing the present.

Miss the present and you live in boredom. BE in the present and you will be surprised that there is no boredom at all. Start by looking around a little more like a child. Be a child again! That's what meditation is all about: being a child again -- a rebirth, being innocent again, not-knowing. That's what we were saying the other day. The Master said: not-knowing is the most intimate.

Yes, you must have become very alienated from life, hence boredom.

Just look around with a little more clarity, with a little more transparency...and life is hilarious!

A downtown store featured a plaque in its window reading: BUY AMERICAN. Printed in small letters at the bottom was: MADE IN JAPAN.

Just start looking around a little more carefully.

It seems only Lizard can and human's can not...........

WHEN A LIZARD CAN, WHY CAN'T WE ?

This is a true story that happened in Japan.

In order to renovate the house, someone in Japan broke open the wall.

Japanese houses normally have a hollow space between the wooden walls.

When tearing down the walls, he found that there was a lizard stuck there
because a nail from outside hammered into one of its feet.

He saw this and felt pity, and at the same time curious, as when he checked
the nail, it was nailed 10 years ago when the house was first built.

What happened?

The lizard had survived in such position for 10 years ! In a dark wall
partition for 10 years without moving, it is impossible and mind-boggling.

Then he wondered how this lizard survived for 10 years!!!

Without moving a single step - since its foot was nailed !

So he stopped his work and observed the lizard, what it had been doing,
and what and how it had been eating.

Later, not knowing from where it came, appeared another lizard, with food
in its mouth.

Ah! He was stunned and touched deeply.

For the lizard that was stuck by nail, another lizard had been feeding it
for the past 10 years...

Imagine ! it had been doing that untiringly for 10 long years, without
giving up hope on its partner.

Think. Would you do that for your partner ?

Think. Would you do it for your Mom who brought you into this world after
a big struggle of nine long months ?
Or for your Dad? Friends, brothers and sisters ?

Imagine what a small creature can do that a creature blessed with a
brilliant mind can't.

As information and communication technology advances, our access to
information becomes faster and faster. But the Distance between human
beings . . . is it getting closer as well ?

Please never abandon your loved ones.
Never Say U R Busy When They Really Need You ....

You May Have The Entire World At Your Feet.....
But You Might Be The Only World To Them....
A Moment of negligence might break the very heart which loves you thru all odds..

Before you say something just remember :

It takes a moment to Break
but an entire life to make...
To Survive use your Brains,
but to Live, use your Heart.

Fw: pl. realise.....

My dear darling child,

You have lived in a well ( busy in studies, home and religion) till now and suddenly we threw you in open world.
In my school days I had read in Marathi which was something like this "jagat diste tase asate ase mannara manascha pay lahulahan houn jate'' it meant if you belive blindly in what you see and act/live/ walk accordingly then every step you take your feet will be injured and will bleed profusely. Rather most often ones heart is bled. But that is how the world is. World is full of variety of people. And you can not change them. But deffinitely you can ignore them.Definitely one can increse the bearing capacity against such heartless and mindless attacks. Tamsik and rajsik people don't deserve your company.

What good is that person who is full of own demands, own needs, own misguided beliefs, own views and out to fulfill own lost aspirations and wishes ( Rajsik) by palying with life of wishes of own child.

See the marriage of Rohit Jain held on 18th Feb. 09 at Silvassa.Rohit comes from a well respected Khandelwal digamaber Jain family. Father ( Shri Rajkumar gangawal ) is selfmade selfsatisfied businessman. Has three factories, two flats in Mumbai, two cars, Has a bungalow in Silavassa etc. etc.  Rohit's  elder brothers is well settled in UK and his marriage was lavish as girl side spent a lot. But Rohit wanted to marry this girl who comes from Gujrati Jain lower middle class family. The girls mother is under treatment for cancer and father has lucoderma. But when Rohit made it clear to them about his wishes then they agreed and solumnised the marriage in a very humble and simple way. Why? Because they have enjoyed their life enough, they are over satisfied, they have nothing unfulfilled in life no own desire to be satiated. So their aim in life is to see happiness in happiness of their children..
But there are others who have unfulfilled dreams and desires, for whom their ego and belief is bigger then simple happiness of child, for whom own spouse is a dirt and own child is a tool to flatter own ego.
Read the attached ppt and you will realise being just sattvik is not enough but you have to learn and know the world has variety of personalities and the looks and presentations can be deceptive.Learn to take back knifing as part of life and move ahead.
Pl. note that When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.  Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.' Have confidence when we have done nothing wrong then no harm will be done to us and that  Something good may be on your way.

And remember Ravan could not be persuaded by Hanuman, vibhisan and others,Kauravs cud not be persuaded by whole lot of mantris, vidushaks, intellectuals, and even Kaikayi and even .....read the whole history and mythology which is full of proudy, self distructive, jiddi, obssessibve, maniacs.
So "Let bygones be bygones".Let us find a path which is more soft, peaceful, plesureous, amenable and less hurting.

However we all are with you in whatever decision you take after thoughtful deleberations and you will never find us legging behind when it is our call.
We have lived our life happily and now only want to see happiness on your ( Pratik and you our dear children) faces. In your happiness lies ours.
Do nothing and we will also do nothing which will take away that from us.

Red Marbles

RED MARBLES…

I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes.  I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily appraising a basket of freshly picked green peas.

I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes.
Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me.

'Hello Barry, how are you today?'

'H'lo , Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look good.'

'They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?'

'Fine. Gittin' stronger alla' time.'

'Good. Anything I can help you with?'

'No, Sir. Jus' admirin' them peas.'

'Would you like to take some home ?' asked Mr. Miller.

'No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with.'

'Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?'

'All I got's my prize marble here.'

'Is that right? Let me see it' said Miller.

'Here 'tis. She's a dandy.'

'I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go for red. Do you have a red one like this at home ?' the store owner asked.

'Not zackley but almost.'

'Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way let me look at that red marble', Mr. Miller told the boy.

'Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller.'

Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a smile she said, 'There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.'

I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time later I moved to Colorado , but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys, and their bartering for marbles.

Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Mr. Miller had died.

They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could.

Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts....all very professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her, and moved on to the casket.

Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one; each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes.

Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket.

'Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim 'traded' them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about colour or size.....they came to pay their debt.'

'We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,' she confided, 'but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho.'

With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red marbles.

The Moral: We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds.... Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath.....

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles ~ A fresh pot of coffee you didn't make yourself....An unexpected phone call from an old friend...Green stoplights on your way to work....The fastest line at the grocery store...A good sing-along song on the radio...Your keys found right where you left them.

Send this to the people you'll never forget.. I just Did....

If you don't send it to anyone, it means you are in way too much of a hurry to even notice the ordinary miracles when they occur.

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED
